Data Deletion
Deleting your Squarebox data
Squarebox is a customer-communication tool used by businesses. When a business connects a channel such as WhatsApp or Instagram, we store the messages exchanged with its customers, the customer records the business keeps, and the connection's access tokens.
To disconnect a channel
In Squarebox, go to Settings, then Integrations, and disconnect the channel. This immediately revokes our access token and stops any further data reaching us. Conversations already in your inbox are kept, so that your history is not lost if you reconnect.
To delete your data
Email hello@squarebox.ai (open in your email app) from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. Tell us which business you mean. We will delete the business's customer records, conversations, messages and connection tokens, and confirm when it is done. We complete deletion within 30 days of a verified request.
If you are a customer of a business that uses Squarebox
To have your data removed, contact that business directly. They control their customer records; we hold the data on their behalf and act on their instruction. You can also write to us at hello@squarebox.ai and we will pass your request to the business.
What we keep afterwards
Billing and invoice records are not deleted with the rest of your data. We keep them for as long as the law requires us to, because tax and accounting rules oblige us to retain them even after an account is closed. Once that period ends they are deleted too.
